Argos - the UK's largest general merchandise retailer.

Introduction

In 2005 Argos decided to implement a host of changes to improve their service to customers. Changes included the introduction of a new, single catalogue containing 17,000 lines, and the implementation of a new and faster process for stores ordering in non-stock items.

A rapid training solution was required for 20,873 personnel in 25 counties across the UK and the Republic of Ireland since changes were set to effect critical aspects of the business such as distribution and storage of stock.

Solution

A blended learning approach was adopted with XOR looking after the vital eLearning components. Interactive, graphics-based exercises were used to engage the learner and modules finished with an evaluation test to ensure competence.

All content was developed using XOR tools that have been highly optimised to reduce bandwidth usage across corporate intranets.

Modules were integrated seamlessly with Argos' Training Management System so usage, progress and test scores are stored centrally on the Store's Intranet server.

Outcomes

"We chose XOR as our Learning Solutions partner because of their partnership approach to project development. XOR excel by being able to provide the high quality work we expect with a quick turnaround."
